what happened to bands like televison?

Lately I'm starting to feel like all my drawings and paintings are just slightly different versions of the same image in my head, the same idea. Same with my writing. After starting the spacemen story, I felt like I was onto something different, original if not in the story line then at least in the prose style. However.... it has totally digressed and regressed and now it just sounds like every other stupid love story I've ever written. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how it feels and it's depressing because it feels like I've got no creativity in me and all I can do is churn out the same tired idea over and over and call it creation.
